Having participated in the festival over the years, Reading Glass Books continues to make the L.A. Times Festival of Books an important part of its mission to introduce independent authors to wider audiences. Each return reflects the bookstore’s commitment to championing diverse voices, building meaningful industry connections, and creating opportunities for authors to engage with readers on one of the country’s most celebrated literary stages.
In partnership with Writers’ Branding, Reading Glass Books showcased nearly 150 titles across a wide range of genres. From fiction and nonfiction to children’s books, memoirs, and inspirational works, the collection gave visitors the opportunity to discover fresh perspectives and unforgettable stories from talented independent authors.
Leading up to the festival, the Reading Glass Books team carefully prepared for another successful appearance by launching the latest edition of The Reading Glass Catalog. Through author spotlights, event announcements, and social media campaigns, the team built excitement and invited readers to visit the booth throughout the two-day event.
The Reading Glass Books booth quickly became a welcoming space for readers, fellow authors, and publishing professionals. Visitors browsed the diverse collection, learned about featured titles, and enjoyed conversations with the team, making the booth a lively destination throughout the festival.
One of the weekend’s highlights was a series of book signing events featuring Bernie Schwartz, Charles and Sherry Feitel, Richard Benevento, Patrick Earl Dwyer, Judith Shadzi, Jim Kaminski, David Pinkston, and Wes Brockway Sr. Their participation gave readers the opportunity to meet the authors, hear the inspiration behind their books, and take home personally signed copies.
The festival also featured ten book launches that introduced visitors to exciting new releases. Among the featured titles were Proud American (English and Spanish Edition), 60 Dates in Six Months (with a Broken Neck), A New Way To Hope, Teachable Moments, Careening Thru The Slums Of Utopia, Overcoming Disappointment and Discouragement, Spiritual Growth From the Inside to the Outside, Quiet. Fear.: An Autobiographical Novel, and Between Lines. These launch events drew readers eager to discover new books and celebrate the authors behind them.
Adding to the experience, Reading Glass Books presented a special showcase featuring Consider Your Possibilities by Dr. Alyce Reopelle and I Am Puppy by V.A. Rivera. The dedicated display gave both titles added visibility and encouraged attendees to learn more about the stories they had to offer.
As Reading Glass Books continues to participate in major literary events, the L.A. Times Festival of Books remains an important stop in its journey to bring independent voices to broader audiences. With every return, the bookstore strengthens its relationships with readers, celebrates its authors, and reaffirms its commitment to creating meaningful connections through the power of books.
